Indiana High School Basketball - Shelbyville nudges Pendleton Heights
January 14, 2023: Pendleton, IN 46064 In Saturday's league outing, the Shelbyville Golden Bears (Shelbyville, IN) basketball squad nipped the host Pendleton Heights Arabians (Pendleton, IN), by a margin of 58-55.
The Golden Bears (6-8) will now prepare for their outing against Franklin Central (Indianapolis, IN). The Flashes go into the non-league outing with a 1-10 record. In their last outing, Franklin Central was tipped by Lawrence Central (Indianapolis, IN), 60-48, in a non-league outing.
The Arabians now own a 4-10 record. They play next when they host Delta for a Hoosier Heritage outing on Friday, January 20. Pendleton Heights will clash with a Eagles squad coming off a 57-53 non-league loss to Wapahani (Selma, IN). The Eagles record now stands at 9-5.

The Golden Bears managed to hit a three point shot with 9 seconds left in the game to steal a victory over the Arabians. We had a good first quarter. An equal second quarter. A dynamic fourth quarter. ...... But a lousy third quarter. The fans saw a good game as there were 14 lead changes and 7 ties. Eight different Arabians scored points with Evan Mozingo leading the way with 13. Also in double figures was Josiah Gustin with 12 and Isaac Wilson with 10. Rounding out the scoring was Aaron Cookston with 7, Caden Sims with 5, Reese Caplinger with 4, Hunter Suchyna with 3 and Brayden Kanitz with 1. Next up for the gentlemen from Pendleton Heights is a road trip to Delta next Friday night. It is always a great conference game.
