Indiana High School Basketball - Pendleton Heights nipped by Delta
January 20, 2023: Muncie, IN 47303 The Delta Eagles tipped the visiting Pendleton Heights Arabians basketball team by a final score of 60-56 in Friday's league game.
In their next game, the Eagles face the Wapahani Raiders (Selma, IN) in a non-league game, on Friday, January 27. Delta will attempt to move on its 10-5 season record. The Raiders enter the game with a 14-1 record after their 61-51 non-league win over New Castle (New Castle, IN).
With the defeat, Pendleton Heights moves to 4-11 on the year. The Arabians travel to Greenfield-Central (Greenfield, IN) to face the Cougars in a Hoosier Heritage game on Friday, January 27. The Cougars enter the game with a record of 12-1. Greenfield-Central won 65-39 in their recent league game against Shelbyville (Shelbyville, IN)

When you hold your opponent to only 9 points in the first quarter, you usually feel confidence. Unfortunately when the scoreboard only shows 2 points for your team, that confidence doesn't exist. A game of high school basketball lasts 4 quarters and the Arabians played 3 great quarters, but that opening quarter created a hole too large to get out of. The Arabians were led in scoring by Josiah Gustin with 15 points. Also scoring in double figures was Evan Mozingo with 13 and Brayden Kanitz with 12.
