North Carolina High School Basketball - Alleghany nips Elkin

January 15, 2025: Sparta, NC 28675

In Wednesday's league contest, the host Alleghany Trojans basketball team scored a close 57-52 triumph over the Elkin Buckin' Elks.

The Trojans (6-5) will now prepare for their contest against Starmount (Boonville, NC). The Rams go into the 1A Northwest contest with a 1-14 record. In their last contest, Starmount was tipped by South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC), 75-32, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Buckin' Elks battle the Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC) in a 1A Northwest contest, on Friday, January 17. Elkin will attempt to better on its 6-7 season record. The Granite Bears go into the contest with a 5-6 record after their 66-49 non-league loss to East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC).
