North Carolina High School Basketball - Alleghany defeats East Wilkes

February 5, 2025: Sparta, NC 28675

The Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC) basketball were winner over the visiting East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC), 65-56 in Wednesday's league bout.

The Trojans now possess a 11-9 record. They play next when they travel to Elkin for a 1A Northwest bout on Friday, February 7. Alleghany will play a Buckin' Elks team coming off a 43-41 league loss to Starmount (Boonville, NC). The Buckin' Elks record now stands at 9-12.

With the loss, East Wilkes falls to 12-8 on the campaign. The Cardinals host North Stokes (Danbury, NC) to play the Vikings in a 1A Northwest bout on Friday, February 7. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 13-9. North Stokes won 65-61 in their recent non-league bout against West Stokes (King, NC)
