North Carolina High School Basketball - East Wilkes bested by South Stokes
January 31, 2025: Walnut Cove, NC 27052 The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the South Stokes Sauras (Walnut Cove, NC) and the visiting East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC), observed South Stokes's basketball team knock off East Wilkes by a score of 71-61.
The Sauras (17-2) will now prepare for their challenge against East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC). The Cardinals come into the non-league challenge with a 9-10 record. In their last challenge, East Surry prevailed over Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC), 58-57, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Cardinals encounter the Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC) in a 1A Northwest challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. East Wilkes will attempt to improve on its 12-7 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 10-9 record after their 61-58 league win over North Stokes (Danbury, NC).
