Franklin Panthers (Franklin, NC) supporters left the game satisfied Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC), 61-59 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Franklin advances its record to 10-2 on the year. The Panthers travel to Hayesville (Hayesville, NC) to face the Yellowjackets in a non-league match on Thursday, January 16. The Yellowjackets enter the match with a record of 1-0.

The Mustangs now own a 5-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host East Henderson for a non-league match on Friday, January 17. Smoky Mountain will face a Eagles squad coming off a 61-50 non-league loss to Pisgah (Canton, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 6-8.
