Georgia High School Basketball - Walnut Grove holds off Cherokee Bluff
January 16, 2024: Flowery Branch, GA 30542 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Walnut Grove Warriors (Walnut Grove, GA) and the host Cherokee Bluff Bears (Flowery Branch, GA), saw Walnut Grove's basketball squad hold off Cherokee Bluff by a tally of 54-52.
With the victory, Walnut Grove improves its record to 9-7 on the campaign. The Warriors host Cedar Shoals (Athens, GA) to confront the Jaguars in a AAAA Region 8 challenge on Friday, January 19. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a record of 6-11. Cedar Shoals lost 60-27 in their recent league challenge against East Hall (Gainesville, GA)
Next up, the Bears confront the Johnson Knights (Gainesville, GA) in a AAAA Region 8 challenge, on Friday, January 19. Cherokee Bluff will attempt to improve on its 14-4 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 3-16 record after their 58-13 league loss to Seckinger (Buford, GA).
