North Carolina High School Basketball - Monroe holds off Anson

The Monroe Redhawks basketball team scored 52 points and limited the visiting Anson Bearcats to 49 in the Redhawks league triumph on Thursday.

The Redhawks now possess a 4-0 record. They play next when they travel to Central Academy for a 2A/3A Rocky River game on Friday, January 17. Monroe will confront a Cougars team coming off a 64-56 league loss to Piedmont (Monroe, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 1-14.

With the loss, Anson falls to 11-5 on the campaign. The Bearcats travel to Forest Hills (Marshville, NC) to confront the Yellow Jackets in a 2A/3A Rocky River game on Friday, January 17. The Yellow Jackets go into the game with a record of 7-8. Forest Hills won 65-62 in their recent league game against West Stanly (Oakboro, NC)
