The Watauga Pioneers routed the visiting Freedom Patriots basketball team by a final score of 54-24 in Tuesday's league game.

In their next game, the Pioneers face the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 52 game, on Friday, January 20. Watauga will attempt to move on its 13-5 season record. The Huskies enter the game with a 12-4 record after their 44-35 league win over South Caldwell (Hudson, NC).

With the defeat, Freedom moves to 10-7 on the year. The Patriots travel to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC) to face the Cougars in a 3A/4A Conference 52 game on Friday, January 20.
