Rhode Island High School Ice Hockey - Ponaganset gets by Coventry

In Friday's league contest, the visiting Ponaganset Chieftains ice hockey team scored a close 4-2 triumph over the Coventry Oakers.

The Chieftains (9-3) will now prepare for their contest against Mount St. Charles Academy (Woonsocket, RI). The Mounties come into the non-league contest with a 7-5 record. In their last contest, Mount St. Charles Academy got by Hoosac (Hoosick, NY), 6-5, in a non-league outing.

With the defeat, Coventry moves to 1-7 on the season. The Oakers travel to Portsmouth (Portsmouth, RI) to encounter the Patriots in a Division 2 outing on Saturday, January 18. The Patriots go into the outing with a record of 6-2. Portsmouth won 7-6 in their recent non-league outing against Chariho (Wood River Junction, RI)
