The Ponaganset Chieftains ice hockey team scored 7 points and held the host Coventry Oakers to 1 in the Chieftains non-league victory on Saturday.

The Chieftains now hold a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host East Greenwich for a Division 2 bout on Saturday, December 14.

With the defeat, Coventry moves to 0-1 on the season. The Oakers host Cranston West (Cranston, RI) to play the Falcons in a Division 2 bout on Friday, December 13. The Falcons go into the bout with a record of 1-1. Cranston West lost 8-0 in their recent non-league bout against Prout (Wakefield, RI)
