Rochester Rockets (Rochester, IL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting MacArthur Generals (Decatur, IL), 51-47 in a league bout.

With the victory, Rochester upgrades its record to 9-15 on the campaign. The Rockets host Lanphier (Springfield, IL) to play the Lions in a Central State Eight bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 4-16. Lanphier lost 47-31 in their recent non-league bout against Springfield Southeast (Springfield, IL)

Next up, the Generals play the Decatur Eisenhower Panthers (Decatur, IL) in a Central State Eight bout, on Tuesday, January 23. MacArthur will attempt to upgrade on its 8-14 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 2-13 record after their 66-36 league loss to Springfield (Springfield, IL).
