The Mars Fightin' Planets basketball team scored 56 points and limited the visiting Montour Spartans to 49 in the Fightin' Planets league triumph on Saturday.

The Fightin' Planets now possess a 8-6 record. They play next when they host Pine-Richland for a non-league game on Monday, January 20. Mars will confront a Rams team coming off a 50-42 non-league loss to Moon Area (Moon Township, PA). The Rams record now stands at 4-11.

With the loss, Montour falls to 7-8 on the campaign. The Spartans host Chartiers Valley (Bridgeville, PA) to confront the Colts in a non-league game on Monday, January 20. The Colts go into the game with a record of 9-6. Chartiers Valley lost 63-43 in their recent non-league game against Upper St. Clair (Upper St. Clair, PA)
