Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Stockdale Mustangs (Bakersfield, CA) and the host Independence Falcons (Bakersfield, CA), saw Stockdale's basketball squad knock off Independence by a count of 59-49.

With the victory, Stockdale upgrades its record to 20-2 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Garces Memorial (Bakersfield, CA) to play the Rams in a South Yosemite - River challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Rams come into the challenge with a record of 11-11. Garces Memorial lost 57-47 in their recent league challenge against Centennial (Bakersfield, CA)

Next up, the Falcons play the Bakersfield Christian Eagles (Bakersfield, CA) in a South Yosemite - Valley challenge, on Tuesday, January 24. Independence will attempt to upgrade on its 9-12 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 14-7 record after their 64-63 non-league loss to Lemoore (Lemoore, CA).
