Mississippi High School Basketball - East Union tops Pine Grove

East Union Urchins (Blue Springs, MS) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Pine Grove Panthers (Ripley, MS), 56-47 in a league bout.

With the victory, East Union upgrades its record to 16-6 on the campaign. The Urchins travel to New Site (New Site, MS) to play the Royals in a 2A Region 1 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Royals come into the bout with a record of 21-5. New Site won 61-57 in their recent non-league bout against Potts Camp (Potts Camp, MS)

Next up, the Panthers play the Walnut Wildcats (Walnut, MS) in a 2A Region 1 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Pine Grove will attempt to upgrade on its 2-17 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 12-9 record after their 34-33 non-league loss to South Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS).
