Walnut Wildcats (Walnut, MS) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host East Union Urchins (Blue Springs, MS), 54-52 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Walnut upgrades its record to 15-12 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Belmont (Belmont, MS) to play the Cardinals in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 21-5. Belmont won 76-38 in their recent non-league bout against Itawamba Agricultural (Fulton, MS)
