The Neuse Charter Cougars basketball team (Smithfield, NC), was nudged 68-63 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Lakewood Leopards (Roseboro, NC)

The Leopards now possess a 8-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Rosewood for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 24.

The Cougars (3-8) will now prepare for their battle against Union (Rose Hill, NC). The Spartans come into the non-league battle with a 0-8 record. In their last battle, Union was nudged by Hobbton (Newton Grove, NC), 52-16, in a non-league battle.
