Washington, DC High School Basketball - Georgetown Day nips Banneker
January 20, 2024: Washington, DC 20007 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers (Washington, DC) and the visiting Banneker Bulldogs (Washington, DC), saw Georgetown Day's basketball squad hold off Banneker by a tally of 64-61.
With the victory, Georgetown Day improves its record to 7-9 on the campaign. The Mighty Hoppers host Potomac School (McLean, VA) to play the Panthers in a VISAA Division I challenge on Monday, January 22. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 7-11. Potomac School won 74-52 in their recent league challenge against St. James (Hagerstown, MD)
Next up, the Bulldogs play the School Without Walls Penguins (Washington, DC) in a DCSAA A challenge, on Monday, January 22. Banneker will attempt to improve on its 7-5 season record. The Penguins come into the challenge with a 6-5 record after their 70-43 league loss to McKinley Tech (Washington, DC).
