In Tuesday's league contest, the visiting South Stokes Sauras basketball team scored a good 51-39 triumph over the Elkin Buckin' Elks.

The Sauras (9-5) will now prepare for their contest against Alleghany (Sparta, NC). The Trojans go into the 1A Northwest contest with a 2-12 record. In their last contest, Alleghany was toppled by East Wilkes (Ronda, NC), 32-21, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Buckin' Elks confront the West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, January 22. Elkin will attempt to better on its 7-9 season record.
