South Dakota High School Basketball - Northwestern Area can't hold off Groton
January 22, 2024: Mellette, SD 57461 The Groton Tigers basketball team scored 49 points and restricted the host Northwestern Area Wildcats to 45 in the Tigers non-league victory on Monday.
The Tigers now sport a 8-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Webster for a A Region 1 contest on Friday, January 26. Groton will battle a Bearcats team coming off a 43-8 non-league win over Waverly/South Shore (Waverly, SD). The Bearcats record now stands at 5-8.
The Wildcats (4-6) will now prepare for their contest against Faulkton (Faulkton, SD). The Trojans come into the non-league contest with a 9-2 record. In their last contest, Faulkton edged Ipswich (Ipswich, SD), 45-31, in a league contest.
