Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Shamokin Area nips Shikellamy
January 23, 2024: Sunbury, PA 17801 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Shamokin Area Indians (Coal Township, PA) and the host Shikellamy Braves (Sunbury, PA), saw Shamokin Area's basketball squad hold off Shikellamy by a count of 50-49.
With the victory, Shamokin Area upgrades its record to 13-4 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Central Mountain (Mill Hall, PA) to play the Wildcats in a Heartland I challenge on Friday, January 26. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 10-5. Central Mountain won 64-32 in their recent non-league challenge against Milton (Milton, PA)
Next up, the Braves play the Selinsgrove Seals (Selinsgrove, PA) in a Heartland I challenge, on Friday, January 26. Shikellamy will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Seals come into the challenge with a 9-4 record after their 78-59 league win over Jersey Shore (Jersey Shore, PA).
