Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC) and the host Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC), saw Mitchell's basketball squad overcome Draughn by a tally of 70-62.

With the victory, Mitchell improves its record to 8-11 on the campaign. The Mountaineers travel to Tuscola (Waynesville, NC) to confront the Mountaineers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 26. The Mountaineers come into the challenge with a record of 2-17. Tuscola lost 79-42 in their recent league challenge against North Henderson (Hendersonville, NC)

Next up, the Wildcats confront the Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference 42 challenge, on Friday, January 27. Draughn will attempt to improve on its 8-11 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 5-14 record after their 75-44 league win over Rosman (Rosman, NC).
