In Friday's league contest, the host Central Gwinnett Black Knights basketball team scored a close 67-66 triumph over the Mountain View Bears.

The Black Knights (13-9) will now prepare for their contest against Buford (Buford, GA). The Wolves go into the AAAAAA Region 8 contest with a 17-3 record. In their last contest, Buford nipped Rabun Gap-Nacoochee (Rabun Gap, GA), 67-44, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Bears confront the Collins Hill Eagles (Suwanee, GA) in a AAAAAA Region 8 contest, on Monday, January 27. Mountain View will attempt to better on its 4-16 season record. The Eagles go into the contest with a 11-10 record after their 82-60 league loss to Dacula (Dacula, GA).
