North Mecklenburg Vikings (Huntersville, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Hough Huskies (Cornelius, NC), 54-45 in a league bout.

With the win, North Mecklenburg upgrades its record to 15-3 on the season. The Vikings host Harding University (Charlotte, NC) to clash with the Rams in a 3A/4A Queen City bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Rams go into the bout with a record of 2-11. Harding University won 47-30 in their recent league bout against Hopewell (Huntersville, NC)

Next up, the Huskies clash with the Chambers Cougars (Charlotte, NC) in a 3A/4A Queen City bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Hough will attempt to upgrade on its 11-7 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 5-10 record after their 65-45 league win over West Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC).
