Mississippi High School Basketball - Lafayette can't hold off West Point

The West Point Green Wave basketball team scored 50 points and held the host Lafayette Commodores to 47 in the Green Wave league triumph on Friday.

The Green Wave now sport a 13-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Okolona for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 27. West Point will battle a Chieftains team coming off a 75-54 non-league loss to Calhoun City (Calhoun City, MS). The Chieftains record now stands at 10-11.

The Commodores (9-10) will now prepare for their contest against Clarksdale (Clarksdale, MS). The Wildcats enter the 5A Region 1 contest with a 4-9 record. In their last contest, Clarksdale was nudged by New Hope (Columbus, MS), 42-30, in a league contest.
