Illinois High School Basketball - Iroquois West knocked off by Coal City
January 27, 2024: Coal City, IL 60416 The Coal City Coalers basketball team scored 51 points and held the visiting Iroquois West Raiders to 40 in the Coalers non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Coalers now sport a 8-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Wilmington for a Illinois Central 8 contest on Tuesday, January 30. Coal City will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 48-44 league win over Reed-Custer (Braidwood, IL). The Wildcats record now stands at 12-6.
The Raiders (8-15) will now prepare for their contest against Gardner-South Wilmington (Gardner, IL). The Panthers enter the non-league contest with a 7-15 record. In their last contest, Gardner-South Wilmington was defeated by Serena (Serena, IL), 67-43, in a non-league contest.
