Illinois High School Basketball - Coal City holds off Herscher
December 15, 2023: Coal City, IL 60416 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Coal City Coalers (Coal City, IL) and the visiting Herscher Tigers (Herscher, IL), saw Coal City's basketball squad hold off Herscher by a tally of 43-41.
With the victory, Coal City improves its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Coalers travel to Beecher (Beecher, IL) to confront the Bobcats in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 19. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a record of 10-0. Beecher won 71-36 in their recent league challenge against St. Anne (St. Anne, IL)
Next up, the Tigers confront the Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish (Kankakee, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, December 21. Herscher will attempt to improve on its 1-9 season record. The Fightin' Irish come into the challenge with a 8-2 record after their 59-55 non-league win over St. Anne (St. Anne, IL).
