The crowd at Monday's league challenge between the Montour Spartans (McKees Rocks, PA) and the visiting Mars Fightin' Planets (Mars, PA), observed Montour's basketball team edge Mars by a score of 57-53.

The Spartans (9-10) will now prepare for their challenge against West Allegheny (Imperial, PA). The Indians come into the WPIAL 5A 3 challenge with a 9-8 record. In their last challenge, West Allegheny was tipped by Bethel Park (Bethel Park, PA), 72-61, in a non-league challenge.
