The SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars (Pinetops, NC) basketball edged the visiting Greene Central Rams (Snow Hill, NC), 54-51 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Cougars now possess a 12-3 record. They play next when they travel to West Craven for a 2A Eastern Plains bout on Thursday, January 30. SouthWest Edgecombe will play a Eagles team coming off a 83-64 league loss to Washington (Washington, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 3-9.

With the loss, Greene Central falls to 7-8 on the campaign. The Rams host North Pitt (Bethel, NC) to play the Panthers in a 2A Eastern Plains bout on Wednesday, January 29.
