The North Stanly Comets nipped the visiting Union Academy Cardinals basketball squad by a final score of 48-45 in Tuesday's league outing.

Next, the Comets clash with the Gray Stone Day Knights (Misenheimer, NC) in a 1A/2A Yadkin Valley outing, on Friday, January 31. North Stanly will attempt to upgrade on its 16-2 season record. The Knights enter the outing with a 3-10 record after their 67-29 league loss to Mount Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, NC).
