Louisiana High School Basketball - Opelousas Catholic holds off Westminster Academy
January 28, 2025: Opelousas, LA 70570 The Opelousas Catholic Vikings basketball team scored 64 points and limited the host Westminster Academy Crusaders to 58 in the Vikings league triumph on Tuesday.
The Vikings now possess a 8-10 record. They play next when they host St. Edmund for a 1A District 5 game on Wednesday, January 29. Opelousas Catholic will confront a Fighting Blue Jays team coming off a 52-32 league win over Berchmans Academy (Grand Coteau, LA). The Fighting Blue Jays record now stands at 13-10.
With the loss, Westminster Academy falls to 8-9 on the campaign. The Crusaders travel to Berwick (Berwick, LA) to confront the Panthers in a non-league game on Thursday, January 30. The Panthers go into the game with a record of 15-10.
