The Magna Vista Warriors basketball team scored 52 points and held the host Halifax County Comets to 48 in the Warriors league triumph on Monday.

The Warriors now sport a 5-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mecklenburg County for a Freelance contest on Tuesday, January 31. Magna Vista will battle a Phoenix team coming off a 80-74 league win over Bassett (Bassett, VA). The Phoenix record now stands at 7-10.

The Comets (5-13) will now prepare for their contest against George Washington (Danville, VA). The Eagles enter the Piedmont contest with a 12-7 record. In their last contest, George Washington was nudged by Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA), 65-51, in a league contest.
