The Halifax County Comets basketball team scored 56 points and restricted the visiting George Washington Eagles to 54 in the Comets league victory on Friday.

The Comets now sport a 4-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bassett for a Piedmont contest on Tuesday, January 10. Halifax County will battle a Bengals team coming off a 67-56 league win over Martinsville (Martinsville, VA). The Bengals record now stands at 6-6.

The Eagles (6-3) will now prepare for their contest against Patrick County (Stuart, VA). The Cougars come into the Piedmont contest with a 5-6 record.
