Illinois High School Basketball - Byron tops Dixon
January 30, 2024: Byron, IL 61010 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Byron Tigers (Byron, IL) and the visiting Dixon Dukes & Duchesses (Dixon, IL), saw Byron's basketball squad knock off Dixon by a count of 67-51.
With the victory, Byron upgrades its record to 20-0 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Rockford Christian (Rockford, IL) to play the Royal Lions in a Big Northern challenge on Friday, February 2. The Royal Lions come into the challenge with a record of 15-5. Rockford Christian lost 88-70 in their recent league challenge against Rock Falls (Rock Falls, IL)
Next up, the Dukes & Duchesses play the Genoa-Kingston Cogs (Genoa, IL) in a Big Northern challenge, on Friday, February 2. Dixon will attempt to upgrade on its 19-5 season record. The Cogs come into the challenge with a 8-16 record after their 57-53 non-league loss to Harvest Christian Academy (Elgin, IL).
