Georgia High School Basketball - Monroe Area over Franklin County
January 30, 2024: Monroe, GA 30656 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA) and the visiting Franklin County Lions (Carnesville, GA), saw Monroe Area's basketball squad overcome Franklin County by a tally of 76-57.
With the victory, Monroe Area improves its record to 17-5 on the campaign. The Purple Hurricanes travel to Hebron Christian (Dacula, GA) to confront the Lions in a AAA Region 8 challenge on Friday, February 2. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 19-2. Hebron Christian won 59-46 in their recent league challenge against Hart County (Hartwell, GA)
Next up, the Lions confront the Oconee County Warriors (Watkinsville, GA) in a AAA Region 8 challenge, on Friday, February 2. Franklin County will attempt to improve on its 11-10 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 3-19 record after their 62-45 league loss to Stephens County (Toccoa, GA).
