Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Athens nips Towanda

The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Athens Wildcats (Athens, PA) and the visiting Towanda Black Knights (Towanda, PA), observed Athens's basketball team edge Towanda by a score of 45-41.

The Wildcats (8-10) will now prepare for their challenge against North Penn-Mansfield (Mansfield, PA). The Tigers come into the Northern Tier challenge with a 16-3 record. In their last challenge, North Penn-Mansfield edged Wellsboro (Wellsboro, PA), 72-55, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Black Knights battle the Troy Trojans (Troy, PA) in a Northern Tier challenge, on Wednesday, February 5. Towanda will attempt to improve on its 8-7 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 14-2 record after their 86-25 league win over Wyalusing Valley (Wyalusing, PA).
