The Merrillville Pirates (Merrillville, IN) basketball knocked off the visiting Hammond Central Wolves (Hammond, IN), 61-50 in Friday's non-league test.

The Pirates (17-8) will now prepare for their test against Lake Central (St. John, IN). The Indians go into the non-league test with a 22-4 record. In their last test, Lake Central notched a victory over Gary West Side (Gary, IN), 73-8, in a non-league test.
