February 2, 2024: Sturgis, SD 57785 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Mitchell Kernels (Mitchell, SD) and the host Sturgis Brown Scoopers (Sturgis, SD), saw Mitchell's basketball squad overcome Sturgis Brown by a tally of 50-35.
With the victory, Mitchell improves its record to 13-0 on the campaign. The Kernels travel to Spearfish (Spearfish, SD) to confront the Spartans in a AA challenge on Saturday, February 3. The Spartans come into the challenge with a record of 8-4. Spearfish won 55-39 in their recent non-league challenge against Huron (Huron, SD)
Next up, the Scoopers confront the Huron Tigers (Huron, SD) in a AA challenge, on Saturday, February 3. Sturgis Brown will attempt to improve on its 2-9 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 5-8 record after their 55-39 non-league loss to Spearfish (Spearfish, SD).
