February 3, 2023: Wakefield, MA 01880 The Wakefield Memorial Warriors (Wakefield, MA) basketball knocked off the visiting Melrose Red Raiders (Melrose, MA), 59-42 in Friday's league test.
The Warriors (13-1) will now prepare for their test against Stoneham (Stoneham, MA). The Spartans go into the Middlesex test with a 3-13 record. In their last test, Stoneham went down by Lynnfield (Lynnfield, MA), 49-48, in a non-league test.
The Red Raiders now own a 7-9 record. They play next when they host Burlington for a Middlesex test on Tuesday, February 7. Melrose will encounter a Red Devils squad coming off a 53-48 league loss to Watertown (Watertown, MA). The Red Devils record now stands at 12-4.
