The Elgin Wildcats basketball team (Elgin, TX), was overwhelmed 67-42 in Saturday's league battle with the host Georgetown Eagles (Georgetown, TX)

The Eagles now possess a 21-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cedar Creek for a 5A Region III District 23 battle on Tuesday, February 7. Georgetown will confront a Eagles team coming off a 81-47 league loss to Pflugerville Connally (Austin, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 16-15.

The Wildcats (6-24) will now prepare for their battle against Bastrop (Bastrop, TX). The Bears come into the 5A Region III District 23 battle with a 8-20 record. In their last battle, Bastrop was overwhelmed by East View (Georgetown, TX), 82-40, in a league battle.
