The Elgin Wildcats basketball team (Elgin, TX), dropped 56-38 in Friday's league battle with the host Cedar Creek Eagles (Cedar Creek, TX)

The Eagles now possess a 16-14 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Pflugerville Connally for a 5A Region III District 23 battle on Saturday, February 4. Cedar Creek will confront a Cougars team coming off a 81-49 league win over Bastrop (Bastrop, TX). The Cougars record now stands at 22-8.

The Wildcats (6-23) will now prepare for their battle against Georgetown (Georgetown, TX). The Eagles come into the 5A Region III District 23 battle with a 20-11 record. In their last battle, Georgetown beat Hendrickson (Pflugerville, TX), 48-45, in a league battle.
