Illinois High School Basketball - Annawan overwhelms Mercer County
February 5, 2024: Aledo, IL 61231 Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Annawan Braves (Annawan, IL) and the host Mercer County Golden Eagles (Aledo, IL), saw Annawan's basketball squad wallop Mercer County by a count of 53-27.
With the victory, Annawan upgrades its record to 22-5 on the campaign. The Braves travel to Abingdon/Avon (Abingdon, IL) to play the Tornadoes in a Lincoln Trail challenge on Wednesday, February 7. The Tornadoes come into the challenge with a record of 21-7. Abingdon/Avon won 57-30 in their recent league challenge against Stark County (Toulon, IL)
Next up, the Golden Eagles play the Monmouth United Red Storm (Monmouth, IL) in a Lincoln Trail challenge, on Thursday, February 8. Mercer County will attempt to upgrade on its 13-13 season record. The Red Storm come into the challenge with a 15-10 record after their 46-37 non-league win over Orion (Orion, IL).
