The Monroe Redhawks routed the visiting Anson Bearcats basketball team by a final score of 72-48 in Tuesday's league game.

In their next game, the Redhawks face the Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) in a non-league game, on Wednesday, February 7. Monroe will attempt to move on its 7-6 season record. The Spartans enter the game with a 7-14 record after their 78-40 league loss to Weddington (Matthews, NC).

With the defeat, Anson moves to 10-11 on the year. The Bearcats host West Stanly (Oakboro, NC) to face the Colts in a 2A/3A Rocky River game on Friday, February 9.
