The Burns Bulldogs basketball team scored 68 points and held the visiting Thomas Jefferson Gryphons to 37 in the Bulldogs league triumph on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs now sport a 10-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bessemer City for a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont contest on Friday, February 9. Burns will meet a Yellow Jackets team coming off a 51-23 league loss to Shelby (Shelby, NC). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 4-18.

The Gryphons (9-13) will now prepare for their contest against Shelby (Shelby, NC). The Golden Lions enter the 1A/2A Southern Piedmont contest with a 14-7 record. In their last contest, Shelby triumphed over East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC), 74-68, in a league contest.
