February 6, 2024: Martins Ferry, OH 43935 The Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights basketball team scored 60 points and restricted the host Martins Ferry Purple Riders to 52 in the Maroon Knights league victory on Tuesday.
The Maroon Knights now sport a 13-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Union Local for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 10. Wheeling Central Catholic will battle a Jets team coming off a 58-33 non-league win over Buckeye Trail (Lore City, OH). The Jets record now stands at 14-4.
The Purple Riders (10-5) will now prepare for their contest against Buckeye Trail (Lore City, OH). The Warriors come into the non-league contest with a 13-3 record. In their last contest, Buckeye Trail was defeated by Union Local (Belmont, OH), 58-33, in a non-league contest.
