Illinois High School Basketball - Southwestern nips Vandalia
February 7, 2023: Piasa, IL 62079 Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Vandalia Vandals (Vandalia, IL), 57-50 in a league bout.
With the win, Southwestern upgrades its record to 15-13 on the season. The Piasa Birds travel to Carlinville (Carlinville, IL) to play the Cavaliers in a South Central bout on Friday, February 10. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a record of 6-18. Carlinville lost 60-47 in their recent league bout against North Mac (Virden, IL)
Next up, the Vandals play the Greenville Comets (Greenville, IL) in a South Central bout, on Friday, February 10. Vandalia will attempt to upgrade on its 13-14 season record. The Comets go into the bout with a 17-10 record after their 66-59 league win over Pana (Pana, IL).
