The Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC) basketball toppled the visiting Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC), 64-55 in Friday's league bout.

The Buckin' Elks now possess a 10-12 record. They play next when they travel to Mount Airy for a 1A Northwest bout on Tuesday, February 11. Elkin will play a Granite Bears team coming off a 54-51 non-league loss to North Surry (Mount Airy, NC). The Granite Bears record now stands at 9-11.

With the loss, Alleghany falls to 11-10 on the campaign. The Trojans host Starmount (Boonville, NC) to play the Rams in a 1A Northwest bout on Monday, February 10. The Rams go into the bout with a record of 3-19. Starmount lost 80-57 in their recent league bout against South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC)
