The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Mount Vernon Bulldogs (Mount Vernon, WA) and the visiting Blaine Borderites (Blaine, WA), observed Mount Vernon's basketball team overwhelm Blaine by a score of 57-36.

The Bulldogs (14-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Mt. Baker (Deming, WA). The Mountaineers come into the 1A/2A/3A Northwest challenge with a 6-11 record.

In their next game, the Borderites battle the Sedro-Woolley Cubs (Sedro-Woolley, WA) in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest bout, on Saturday, February 8. Blaine will attempt to move on its 4-13 season record. The Cubs go into the bout with a 8-11 record after their 45-42 league loss to Meridian (Bellingham, WA).
