February 7, 2025: Mitchell, SD 57301 Mitchell Kernels (Mitchell, SD) supporters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting Sturgis Brown Scoopers (Sturgis, SD), 50-30 in a league match.
With the victory, Mitchell advances its record to 12-2 on the year. The Kernels host Spearfish (Spearfish, SD) to face the Spartans in a AA match on Saturday, February 8. The Spartans enter the match with a record of 8-4. Spearfish won 70-11 in their recent non-league match against Lead-Deadwood (Lead, SD)
The Scoopers now own a 6-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Huron for a AA match on Saturday, February 8. Sturgis Brown will face a Tigers squad coming off a 44-39 league loss to Roosevelt (Sioux Falls, SD). The Tigers record now stands at 6-7.
