Virginia High School Basketball - New Covenant nipped by Eastern Mennonite

February 8, 2024: Lynchburg, VA 24501

The Eastern Mennonite Flames tipped the host New Covenant Gryphons basketball team by a final score of 63-60 in Thursday's league game.

In their next game, the Flames face the Grace Christian School Kings (Mechanicsville, VA) in a non-league game, on Monday, February 12. Eastern Mennonite will attempt to move on its 16-6 season record. The Kings enter the game with a 14-6 record after their 81-53 league win over Guardian Christian Academy (Chesterfield, VA).

With the defeat, New Covenant moves to 14-5 on the year. The Gryphons host Veritas School (Richmond, VA) to face the Lions in a non-league game on Friday, February 9. The Lions enter the game with a record of 4-13. Veritas School lost 95-47 in their recent non-league game against Veritas Collegiate Academy (Chesapeake, VA)
